Some of the most frequent Aleve side effects are: diarrhea, constipation, bloating, drowsiness, headaches, nausea, heartburn, lightheadedness.  Most of these negative effects do not happen very often and they are not long term Aleve side Effects, but, they can cause serious problems if you don’t receive medical care on time. Other Aleve adverse effects that have been experienced by people taking this medication are: buzzing in the ears, lower legs pain, swelling of feet, or visual field defects. You need to consult your doctor right away and stop taking Aleve if you experience any of the following side effects: intense stomach pain, symptoms of an allergic reaction like itching, difficulty of breathing, swelling of the mouth, tongue or throat.  Before using this NSAID, and in order to avoid any side effects of Aleve, you need to inform your doctor of any diseases you may have, allergies, other medications you’re using or any other important factors regarding your health. Women should mention if they are pregnant or breastfeeding, because this can affect the way that they should use this medication. This drug shouldn’t be used by people who have had an allergic reaction to acetylsalicylic acid. Patients with a history of asthma, nasal discharge not caused by a common cold or nasal polyps should discuss first with their doctor if treatment with this drug may affect their medical condition, or if their disease can affect the effectiveness of Aleve and if any special monitoring is needed. People who suffer from ulcers with bleeding in the stomach or intestine, or those suffering of Chron’s disease or ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel disease) should not take this medicine.

Aleve side effects can be experienced by people with high blood pressure or those who had a heart failure, so they need to talk with their doctor regarding how the treatment with this medicine can affect their medical condition. In seniors case the risk of having any side effects of Aleve appears to be higher. They should take the lowest effective dose of Aleve, and under a very close medical supervision. For children under the age of 12 years old, the safety and effectiveness of this NSAID hasn’t been established yet. Pregnant women may experience Aleve side effects if they are taking this medicine in the first 6 months of pregnancy, so they shouldn’t use it only if the benefits are higher than the risks. This drug shouldn’t be used at all in the last 3 months of pregnancy. Also, if you became pregnant while taking Aleve, you need to contact your doctor immediately. If you’re trying to became pregnant, it is not recommended to use this drug.

Aleve is a medicine used by many people, and most of them don’t experience any side effects, but there is the possibility that you may have some Aleve side effects when using it, and in such a case you urgently need to seek medical care.
